My family will be staying over for a week and just arrived today.
They’re not as focused on diet as I am, and I’d like to share some thoughts on how I maintained my ideal diet while being with them, going to restaurants with them, etc.
Backstory: some people are able to eat anything and they feel super high-energy, but I’m unusual in that if I eat anything other than whole foods, I feel low-energy, cranky, and not at my best…
I used to feel pressure from my family to eat certain foods, and eat similar dinners to them at restaurants but I figured out how to bypass it:
I leaned into the idea that I have usual diet requirements and accepted the idea that I might be teased for it a bit, as I’m proud of my unusual diet requirements, which are ‘only whole foods, no junk / animal foods’.
